A.I.

Once again I had an epiphany during my spinning class this afternoon. I watched as one of my class mates was spinning hard on the bike, she looked at her Fitbit, realised it wasn’t working and looked a bit upset about it. The Fitbit wasn’t accurately reporting on her effort so there was a problem. What happened to just listening to your body. Seeing how it responds, looking at how your shape is changing, how you are able to do more than you used to. Why do we need technology to validate our efforts. What happens when that kit stops working. Why should a machine know you better than you know yourself. Now, I might have this opinion because I can’t actually afford to buy my own Fitbit but maybe there is something in separating yourself from this technology takeover, even if it’s just a little bit
